At Connect Church we believe we are called to connect people to Christ, community and purpose. There are few things that accomplish that mission as much as serving together! So on July 26, 2026 we will set aside our usual Sunday morning worship service to simply serve our community in Jesus name. Beginning at 9:00am we will mobilize the entire church body to serve our local community through various service projects. 

IF YOU HAVE KIDS:


• We WILL still be having Kids Ministry!


• You MUST sign them up under the "Child Care" Registration!


• We need to know how many kids we will have, and what they want to eat!


• Once you sign them up under Child Care, you can choose their t-shirt size and their lunch!

From 12:30pm to 1:30pm we will have a boxed lunch available for everyone who is serving in the Multi-Purpose Center.

Then from 1:30pm to 2:30pm we will have a Reflection Service in the Worship Center with music and testimonies so we can celebrate all that God did that morning. 

Jesus said in Acts 1:8, “And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere-in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”

Jesus commanded us to take care of “home” first and we believe there is a mission field in our backyard. That is what this is all about. 

Below you will find the list of service projects that we have lined up for that day and the number of volunteer spots that are available for each project. 

EACH PERSON SERVING MUST SIGN-UP INDIVIDUALLY!

Remember, you are never more like Jesus than when you are serving!

Beginning at 9:00am, we will be at the church helping ASPIES (an Akron based Autism support group) by supplying and prepping for Christmas with notes of encouragement, coloring pictures, and making cards or table placemats to distribute to local DD group homes, extended care facilities, and day programs. ANYONE, ANY AGE can participate!



ASPIES helps those with developmental disabilities in 7 counties – Summit, Portage, Stark, Tuscarawas, Wayne, Medina, and Cuyahoga.



Boxed lunches will be served from 12:30pm-1:30pm at the church, then from 1:30pm-2:30pm we will have a Reflection Service in the Worship Center.

Beginning at 9:00am, this team will be meeting at the church and will be a blessing to our building. We will be doing some painting and touching up different areas within the church.

Beginning at 9:00am, multiple teams will be going to help the Haven of Rest by splitting into three teams, with 7 people per team. We will be deep cleaning their dormitories, dining room, stairways, and lobby. If all projects get finished early, we will be helping with other projects throughout Haven of Rest as needed. You MUST be 16 years or older to serve on this project.

Beginning at 9:00am, this team will be helping the Holy FIRE Ministries, where they operate a local discipleship women’s home and center in Akron dedicated to helping women overcome darkness and find their identity in Jesus Christ. We will be mulching and cleaning up the yard and flowerbed. You MUST be 18 years or older to serve on this project.



Boxed lunches will be served from 12:30pm-1:30pm at the church, then from 1:30pm-2:30pm we will have a Reflection Service in the Worship Center.


Beginning at 9:00am, a team will be doing homeless outreach in East Akron. We will be providing them with hot food bag lunches (preparing them at the church before going), evangelizing to those in the area, and praying with anyone who needs it! You MUST be 16 years or older to serve on this project.



Boxed lunches will be served from 12:30pm-1:30pm at the church, then from 1:30pm-2:30pm we will have a Reflection Service in the Worship Center.

Beginning at 9:00am, this team will be helping a home in Norton where we can be a blessing. We will be cleaning up the yard/flowerbed, edging/mowing, mulching, painting the shed, and repairing the shed door.

Boxed lunches will be served from 12:30pm-1:30pm at the church, then from 1:30pm-2:30pm we will have a Reflection Service in the Worship Center.


Beginning at 9:00am, this team will be helping a home in Akron where we can be a blessing. We will be doing some interior work, where we will be sealing the wood ceilings in four rooms of the house.

Boxed lunches will be served from 12:30pm-1:30pm at the church, then from 1:30pm-2:30pm we will have a Reflection Service in the Worship Center.


Beginning at 9:00am, this team will be helping a home in North Canton where we can be a blessing. We will be cleaning up the yard/flowerbed, edging/mowing, mulching, tree trimming, shrub pruning, and spraying the driveway for weeds.

Boxed lunches will be served from 12:30pm-1:30pm at the church, then from 1:30pm-2:30pm we will have a Reflection Service in the Worship Center.


Beginning at 9:00am, this team will be helping two homes in Uniontown down the road from each other where we can be a blessing. We will be weeding, moving items up and down the basement and the upstairs, pressure washing a deck, and stripping wall paper.

Boxed lunches will be served from 12:30pm-1:30pm at the church, then from 1:30pm-2:30pm we will have a Reflection Service in the Worship Center.

Beginning at 9:00am, this team will be helping a home in North Canton where we can be a blessing. We will be doing yard/brush clean up and power washing the house.

Boxed lunches will be served from 12:30pm-1:30pm at the church, then from 1:30pm-2:30pm we will have a Reflection Service in the Worship Center.

Beginning at 9:00am, this team will be helping a home in Uniontown where we can be a blessing. We will be doing yard/flowerbed clean up, debris removal, edging/mowing, mulching, tree/shrub pruning, weeding, and possibly some foundation painting. We are asking for two people on this team to have construction experience.



Boxed lunches will be served from 12:30pm-1:30pm at the church, then from 1:30pm-2:30pm we will have a Reflection Service in the Worship Center.


Beginning at 9:00am, this team will be helping a home in Coventry Township where we can be a blessing. We will be doing yard/flowerbed clean up, debris removal, tree cleanup, trimming shrubs, weeding, edging/mowing, and mulching.

Boxed lunches will be served from 12:30pm-1:30pm at the church, then from 1:30pm-2:30pm we will have a Reflection Service in the Worship Center.


Beginning at 9:00am, this team will be helping a home in Barberton where we can be a blessing. We will be doing an entire house clean out.

Beginning at 9:00am, this team will be helping a home in Coventry Township where we can be a blessing to a husband and wife that are legacy charter members of Connect Church. We will be doing yard/flowerbed clean up, debris removal, weeding, edging and mulching.

We need at least one person who has a work truck available.

Boxed lunches will be served from 12:30pm-1:30pm at the church, then from 1:30pm-2:30pm we will have a Reflection Service in the Worship Center.

We will need people to stay behind and watch the kids who are too young to go out and serve. This allows their parents the opportunity to serve their community, without the stress of having to worry about who will watch their kids! You will be watching children ages Nursery through 5th grade. You MUST be 18 years or older, KidSafe approved, and undergo a background check by the church.

Boxed lunches will be served from 12:30pm-1:30pm at the church, then from 1:30pm-2:30pm we will have a Reflection Service in the Worship Center.


Beginning at 9:00am, we will need a team of people to stay behind and prepare boxed lunches for everyone who is out serving at one of the other projects. If you are unable to do the jobs included in the house projects, this would be perfect for you!

Beginning at 9:00am, we will be assisting the Salvation Army in Barberton. The Salvation Army provides year-round programs to help low-income communities thrive. We will help them by doing a deep cleaning throughout their building with sweeping/mopping, cleaning the pantry shelves, and putting a new pantry liner in.
